How can we best relate with the practices and practitioners of healthcare in order to bring about the greatest personal wellbeing?
It is all about self-empowerment. Some of you will work with some practitioners, others will work with other practitioners and one person might work with a certain practitioner and it works beautifully, you find perfect solutions, you come into complete integrity and harmony within yourself through that practitioner. Another person might work with that practitioner and everything goes awry. The important difference that matters in regard to this question is in this self-empowerment, the way that you take self-empowerment as a patient into your healthcare experiences.
So yes, first and foremost, the most important thing you can do in regard to your healthcare choices is to learn to listen to your bodies. We can say that, but it is not always clear on how to do that. We can give you some exercises now and there are many other exercises in the world to help you tune into the feelings and sensations in your bodies and to come to understand the way that your body carries your emotions, your history and your potential with you all of the time. Many of these exercises are available in other Akashic Channelings. The most important thing you can do is to listen to your body and make a deep commitment to honoring what you learn from listening. If something feels out of alignment for you, avoid it and find the things that do feel best for you.
As you encounter a healthcare practitioner or a certain kind of healthcare practice, you take with you that initial sense of knowing about yourself and that primary commitment you have made to your own wellbeing. That is the platform upon which you can build a balanced relationship with a practitioner in which you are able to listen to your intuition through the entire process and able to stand up and speak your truth and it is from that place of self-respect and self honoring self empowerment, that you can then use a practitioner to benefit from their expertise. This is a very different model from the model that is operated especially in the western world, which is a model in which the old way of doing things is people feel their body is a mystery and they have some fear and some confusion about what is happening in their bodies and they turn themselves over to a practitioner believing or being led to believe that an expert knows better than they do about their bodies and therefore they begin to turn off their intuition.
They are not coming from a place of self-respect and self-inquiry, they are giving themselves over and they are giving their power over to whomever they perceive as the expert. That is the old way of doing things. The new way is to build a platform of self-respect and self-empowerment and the way to build that platform often coincides with spiritual practices. The spiritual practices like meditation, prayer, these are the practices that help you know yourself in that deep quiet place inside where the answers or your own self-knowledge about your body lies. It is vitally important as you try to step toward a more enlightened relationship with healthcare and healthcare practitioners that you develop a spiritual practice of one kind of another that enables you to develop this sense of divine listening.
The Keepers have given so much information about these kinds of practices that we will not repeat them here. But know that you must develop self-inquiry and self-knowledge and it is from that place that you can best utilize the practitioners of healthcare. Once you are coming from that place then healthcare practitioners or experts are incredibly useful. They have a great deal of information to share.
They can give you their perspective, but ultimately all of your healthcare decisions lie with you and ultimately you are accountable for every choice you make about your healthcare whether you choose to have something done or whether you choose to avoid having something done. Ultimately you are responsible. This is one of the lessons that is being learned at an individual level all across America, all across the United States and that has created a collective crisis. You have had a model that was based on giving yourselves over to experts and now as more and more of you become self empowered, as more and more of you acquire this sense that you should be able to ask your own body and follow the cues of your own body, then you find that there is a collision between that self empowerment and the old version of power that was given away.
As you collectively navigate your healthcare transition into a new version of healthcare, it is vitally important that each one of you individually, comes to completely embrace the fact that you are completely accountable for your body, but that you are not alone in that. Your body is working with you. Develop a spiritual practice of self-listening. Make a firm commitment to honoring your body in all circumstances in every way you can. It is very much like a marriage. You may even have a ritual of some kind where you make a solemn vow to your body and you ask you body to give you the cues that you need to understand what is happening. More and more you will find that you become aware of what you are sensing. You will know what you are sensing but you will not always know what it means and that is where you can use the help of an expert. You will know what you are sensing but you will not always know what to do about it and that is where you can use the help of an expert. You must start from a place of self-knowledge and a firm commitment to honoring your body in all circumstances.
How can we best release negative aspects of experience or the baggage that holds us back?
The answers to this are so numerous. There are so many ways that you can release the baggage that holds you back and there is not a single right way for any one of you because each of you is so different and your baggage is so different. As you change over time, the ways that will work best for you will also change over time. The things we can say about this now are that there are some key features to this work that all of you will need to include in your healing process. One of them is forgiveness. It is necessary if you are going to truly release your baggage. It is necessary that you open a space to forgive yourself for having that baggage and to forgive everyone involved for helping create that baggage. And that can be easy or not, but whether you have reached the point of being able to feel that forgiveness, it is important that you continue to open the space for it so that even if you are furiously angry with whomever hurt you in the past and caused you to have this baggage or even if you continually slip into the habit of criticizing yourself saying that there is something wrong with you for having the baggage.
Despite those patterns or those tendencies, keep drawing yourself back to the idea or the possibility, just maybe you were totally innocent and just maybe the people around you were trying their best and yet damage occurred and patterns developed. Baggage was acquired. Keep opening that space and eventually over time the forgiveness will occur. You will not need to force it -- it just takes time. But the time has to be filled with that space of considering their forgiveness as possible. It is especially important to forgive yourself.
This is the entire purpose of grace in this world, is grace exists so that you can forgive yourselves because the truest form of baggage; the core of every piece of emotional baggage that you carry is self-blame and self-hatred. It is any time you feel anything other than love and respect for yourself, you have fallen into your baggage. When we say it that way, you probably recognize that you fall into your baggage quite a lot; most of you do. But the key here is just to continually consider the idea that perhaps you were innocent, perhaps despite your mistakes, despite your confusion, you still are just as good and just as divine as you ever could be. That is a key component to releasing your baggage. Then as far as the best way, there are so many methodologies so the second thing is vitally important that you retain a sense of curiosity about different healing endeavors, different practices, curiosity and flexibility.
For most of you will find that you feel drawn to certain techniques or certain practitioners and as you work through the baggage that is available when you begin that process, you will find that as new baggage arises, as new issues, patterns or wounds come to the surface, you may very well need to change to a different form of practice. You may need to change to a new technique or a new practitioner. It is important that you retain a sense of curiosity continually noticing if you feel like things are moving or not. If you do not feel that things are moving, if you feel as if it is stuck then try something new. Go to a workshop, read a self-help book, ask someone for help, take a class, go to a healer. There are endless possibilities but try something new even if you are not sure it will hit the mark. The only time you are truly stuck is when you stop trying new techniques, when you stop trying something new. Those are the two key features or components will give you for releasing your emotional baggage. (Dec 2009)
