Hello and welcome to Spirit Guides Network Radio show with your host, Mark Chatterton. Today’s guest is Ann Napier of Cygnus Books. Ann, together with her husband, Geoff, founded Cygnus Books twenty one years ago as a means of getting good quality Mind, Body and Spirit books to the public at reasonable prices through a book club. Every month Cygnus Books publishes a free magazine called the Cygnus Review, which is sent to your home for you to choose and buy the latest Mind, Body and Spirit books, as well as read articles by leading authors and learn about the latest courses and events taking place. As someone who has benefited over the years from all that Cygnus Books has to offer, it is a great privilege for me to welcome you on to the show today, Ann.
Twenty one years is quite a milestone for you and Geoff. So what made you decide to start Cygnus Books and did you ever believe that it would still be going in 2012?
Is it any easier running Cygnus Books now compared to what it was say ten years ago?
Cygnus Books is based in South Wales. Have you always lived there or did you move there with the company?
Although Cygnus Books is primarily a Book Club, you have on occasions published books under the Cygnus Books imprint. For instance, Pierre Pradervand’s “The Gentle Art of Blessing” was one you published and I understand was one of the biggest sellers on your list. What made you decide to start publishing your own books?
Last year Cygnus Books celebrated its 20th anniversary and you got some of the authors whose books you have sold to say which books inspired them. What about yourself? What book(s) would you say have inspired you the most?
Obviously you are what I might call a spiritually awake person. Did you ever have a one off spiritual experience that started you off on this path, or did it gradually happen with you?
I know that you have had shared with Cygnus subscribers the extra challenge of battling cancer in recent years? What advice would you give to anyone who is going through the same experience?
Running Cygnus Books has been quite stressful at times and you’ve pulled through with the help of your supporters and customers. How would you see Cygnus Books going forward in the future?
