Psychics - Are They the New Wellness Therapists?

Spirituality is a human phenomenon, whether realised or not, everyone has had either a secular or religious experience, and psychics are a by-product of it. Psychics have come a long way since the Victorian seances, the expectations of ectoplasm and manifestations have evolved into paranormal investigations and psychics now specialise in intuitive corporate work and fighting crime. Another important change to mention is that of prediction, there has been a major shift away from that practice, and rightly so. Instead, psychics identify patterns to provide forecasts or projections. Over the last few decades, the role of the professional psychic has changed significantly and what was, and still is considered by some, to be a dodgy practice has, has transformed itself into a valuable respected profession to enter; so let’s be clear on what a being a professional psychic means.

Whilst still working outside of the mainstream professions, psychics are people who interact with Spirit upon their client’s behalf to receive guidance, personal messages, and information from those in Spirit, a euphemism for spiritual guides, angels, and deceased loved ones. Different people have different preferences, which are catered for by the various gifts that a professional psychic possesses. Some psychics are clairvoyant, they see visions or images in their mind's eye; others are clairaudient which means they hear Spirit and then there are those who are clairsentient, empaths who reap the information their client needs via their feelings. Mediums are psychics who specialise in employing their spiritual guides to make contact with and draw forward loved ones who reside in Spirit. Some psychics simply rely on their psychic gifts whilst others complement them by using divination tools such as tarot cards, runes, or the I Ching. Others work with working with angels, Ascended Masters, and spirit animals to enhance and enrich the reading.

Psychic ability stems from the development of intuition, the spiritual-self, and how it interfaces with universal consciousness and Mother Nature to help the human race. Shamanism is thought to be the first practical belief system to evolve from such a union. Developed by our ancestor's knowledge of their natural environment and its invisible forces of spiritual templates. Having a highly developed intuition enabled them to be at one with nature, communing with it and reading its signs and thus they secured the survival of the human race. By doing so they opened the door to alternated states of consciousness, mysticism and the metaphysical world, and what is now commonly associated with psychic ability and which lies dormant within everyone.

Being psychic means having a highly developed intuition, and most people have good instincts. Intuition is the result of the brain seeking information outside of awareness, in other words interacting with Spirit, it is an essential and integral part of who a person is. However, most people don’t join up the dots between instinct and Spirit. The result is they don’t know they’re psychic until it’s pointed out to them. The information gained from a relationship with Spirit activates that gut feeling which is invaluable guidance. In this day and age, the default setting is for someone is to ignore or dismissed intuition as a co-incidence and this is where the professional psychic steps in. Although everyone’s psychic, professional psychics are prepared to commit to harnessing and training their intuition to expose their psychic gifts, which enables them to provide meaningful, structured, and informative readings. Such readings help people gain clarity and assist them to resolve their issues, whether it be their career, relationships, wealth, or health.

Consulting with a professional psychic these days is no longer big deal, in fact, the number of people who do so has systematically risen since the 1950s, and this is despite the fact psychics are one of the most misunderstood of professions. There are several reasons for this upsurge, the main ones being the various mainstream religions are no longer meeting people’s spiritual needs and telephone readings are convenient and offer a certain degree of anonymity. Another reason is psychic ability is also a form of spiritual healing and associated with healers. With the upsurge of popularity in complementary therapies and alternative medicine, it's now the norm for psychics to also be a qualified complementary or alternative health therapist, which brings another dimension to the reading. It enables psychics to take the holistic approach; where a person’s mental, emotional, physical, social, and spiritual needs are addressed and practical, supportive coping techniques and strategies are woven into the psychic’s readings which endorses the guidance being delivered. This is an important development and highlights the fact that when compared to the orthodox equivalent is a counselor, psychiatrist, priest, and in some cases, a GP would have all been consulted to get the same amount of support.

This comprehensive service is an important advancement when time is of the essence and someone is feeling overwhelmed by their life, momentarily lost, have no idea of what direction to take, and thinks they’ve no one to turn to. At such times, all a person has to do is to decide whether they wish to speak to an independent psychic such as me, or one who works for an agency, a process which Spirit guides them through once their intention’s been made, and then pick up the phone. What other profession is able to meet a person’s needs immediately, twenty-four seven? None. Psychics aren’t becoming the new wellness therapists they already are and have been for years!
