In our world so much time, effort, money and energy is spent on the development of material things. We seek to enhance our appearance, our salaries our appliances, kitchens, houses and gardens, the cars we drive, the jobs we do, the places we travel to on holiday and we are constantly seeking new experiences and thrills.
Sadly though so many of us are missing out on life’s real treasures, true wonders await those who venture to look a little deeper in to life, for those who perhaps have grown weary and disenchanted with the empty promises that the material world has to offer.
Perhaps we can take a more personal approach to development. This true miracle the human body for instance, perhaps we could begin to love and respect it. We could begin to see it as a wonderful gift, an aid to learning, and loving. In essence it is our church, The Church which houses the Spirit. Many people I know treat their bodies with loathing and contempt yet would never dream of treating their house or car in the same way... There is nothing wrong with having a nice home or a nice car, but perhaps we could look at it differently. We could view those things as tools for living not a substitute or replacement for it. We could eat better keep fitter and be more sympathetic to our bodies. To me the body is a tool. We can do more with a sharper chisel than a blunt and rusty one so it makes sense to look after it and cherish it and give thanks for it. It is not as if we can nip down to B&Q and get another one... With all the wonderful and marvellous technology that science has discovered, for all intents and purposes they could not create even one blade of grass or human cell, let alone a human body. The bodies we have are instruments an aid to learning and experiencing... We are not the physical body but we are the driver, the operator. The body is a precious gift and should be treated as such. It is the seat of awareness in this physical world, the base for our life on this Earth. Love yourself and the gift of life that has been bestowed upon you
From a Spiritualist point of view it is obvious that we can develop or unfold personal gifts such as Healing and Mediumship. It is proven beyond a shadow of doubt that we are in close dissoluble contact with the Spirit world whilst we are here. There are Mediums and Healers in our present time, that have developed their Spiritual gifts to a remarkable degree. However astounding developments could be made if we could focus more on personal development. The human race truly has not even realised a fraction of it’s potential!!!
Spiritual development is not the same as developing Spirituality. For instance a
Medium or healer is not necessarily a Spiritual person. So what is Spirituality? How can we define it? There is one thing and one thing only which defines a person’s Spirituality and that is quite simply love. How much love of the unconditional variety is manifested in them... It elevates their auric vibration; subsequently they are connected to the higher Spiritual spheres. Spirituality is something that needs working on in order for any individual to grow... This is the true growth of Spirit that so many people refer to.
Mediumship and Healing combined with Spirituality is a truly wonderful combination. They naturally become an extension of Spirituality, Mediumship and Healing then become a of service of love to mankind and if allowed to blossom and bloom can extend to embrace all aspects of the divine and all of creation. Love is the correct motive for all spiritual gifts; love is the key which unlocks all the doors.
