ANCHORAGE, Alaska - Cathy Marie Morton, author, transformational speaker, and 30-year Reiki Master, Burn Survivor, 47 -year Alaskan will present Awakening Our Compassionate Heart, a special Full Moon event on Thursday, August 27, 2026, from 5:30-7:30 p.m. in the Loussac Library Rotunda, 3600 Denali Street.
Cathy is featured in the full moon series hosted by ATOM - A Metaphysical Community. The interactive evening combines guided breath, sound experiences featuring crystal singing bowls, gongs, and a drum, and practical reflections designed to help participants reduce stress, cultivate compassion, and reconnect with themselves and others.
Morton has spent more than three decades teaching personal growth and wellness practices. She volunteers for the Phoenix World Burn Society and was the wellness presenter at their international World Burn Congress in 2025. She has been invited to present again at the 2027 Congress in Grand Rapids, Michigan.
"Compassion begins within each of us," Morton said. "This evening offers a chance to pause, breathe, and reconnect in a supportive community setting."
About: For Morton, the August 27 event date holds deep personal significance. On that day years ago, she survived a fire that claimed five lives. The event became the catalyst for her lifelong journey towards wellbeing.
