Majors have keywords, archetypes, characters, zodiac correspondences, Focus suggestions, and music additions. There is a full detailed meaning for each Major card, and a prompt for a glamorous journal. There is a glamorous meditation for each major also. I would say informative and lots to bring on a smile!
Minors are the everyday life experiences. A very useful table of correspondences is supplied. Court cards are Pages, Knights, Queens and Kings of Pentacles, Swords, Cups and Wands, with an introduction to each of the elemental signs. So- though traditional - the text is deep and interesting. Reversals are covered with a personal suggestion.
The spreads are a section titled Crowning the Cards, it’s good to have a chat, and this is a great style we have for all information in this book! Each spread has several suggestions on how to use it: One-Card Vibe Check, a Three-Card Variation, a Five-Card Cross, a Nine-Card, The Grief Spread (5 Cards), Card Focused Spreads, Wheel of the Year Spread (12 Cards). There is an explanation for working with troublesome cards, including The Devil at My Shoulder Spread (3 Cards), The Tower of Obstacles Spread, (4 Cards), and The Dreaded Death Spread (3. Cards) - my favourite and ideal for Halloween parties! There is also information on how to create your own spread. And the book ends with the obstruction that Your Glamorous Journey must continue, as you cross the threshold! The time has come for you to SLAY your practice!
At the back of the book is a bibliography, and recommendations of tarot readers for those doing deeper work, for help with becoming a professional, and websites and podcasts,
I loved this book. It’s fresh, comprehensive, thoughtful, powerful, I learnt a lot but in a very easy way. I wasn’t sure if I would like the author, but yes! I did, and I had a sense of kindness and knowledge which all really wonderful tarot readers must have!
